Measurements

The measurements of factors in Physics, Chemistry and others are deterministic procedures to monitor and ensure the level of quality of operation of a unit. It is a legislative requirement for businesses where workers may be exposed to any of these factors. Depending on the nature of the activity of the company, measurements may be required during the phase of licensing, preparation of Study Occupational Risk Assessment, after an accident or incident due to malfunction of equipment etc.

Physical factors:

  • Noise
  • Lighting
  • thermal Stress
  • Temperature
  • Relative humidity
  • Ventilation etc.

Chemical factors:

  • Gases
  • Particulates (dust, cotton dust, lead, cobalt, nickel, asbestos, iron, graphite, etc.)
  • Carbon dioxide
  • Solvents etc.

Other factors:

  • Biological factors
  • Electrical quantities (voltage and amperage, earthing resistance, etc.)

Thus measurable hazards are identified and necessary corrective actions for their impairment and prevention of possible accidents are made.
